 In this article, we will talk about one thing you need to know about Google Adsense and Infolinks before integrating these advertising network into blog at the same time.

You probably already setup your own blog or website by now. Just like any other website owner, the most common thing that comes into our mind is how we monetize our blog to cover up our maintenance fees such as web hosting, domain name and of course to pay off our efforts as an owner who tirelessly writes article and some other technical expenses.

While thinking about monetizing your blog. The most popular ad network that we can think of is Google Adsense because of its popularity from any other advertising network. In which we have integrated one on our website next to infolinks.

GOOGLE ADSENSE

Meanwhile, Signing up an account with adsense takes a little while but most importantly you need to read its policies to make sure that your website complies its program policies. We are not going to discuss any further about how to setup a Google Adsense account but rather we will provide you some tips without getting rejected in your first application.

During our account application Google Adsense team will manually check your website if you pass or have complied its policies. What we basically did is.

  • Make sure the your website does not pose any adult content such as pornographic materials.
  • Make sure that you do not have lorem ipsum content / article left published. If you have one then immediately change it’s status to draft. In other words dummy contents.
  • Have at least 10 to 12 articles in your site.

The above mentioned does not guarantee anything but will give you a greater chances of getting your application being approved. It is still important that you read its program  policies carefully.

INFOLINKS

Assuming that you had an approved Google Adsense account by now. Applying for infolinks publisher account will be much easier. Yet, it is always an important thing to read their respective policies, terms and conditions when applying for any account other than Google adsense and Infolinks.

There are several advertising network to choose from, but we will just focus on the two. On the other hand, integrating these ads to work in your website is easy as copy and pasting a small javascript code into your HTML file. Don’t worry too much about it, setup guide instructions is provided during your first login in your publisher account dashboard.

Let’s jump in into infolinks publisher dashboard. Noticed the outlined red tab below called Ads.txt? Infolinks may require you to add a .txt or text file into your HTML root directory ( www.domain.com/ads.txt ) with a lists of publishers ID within your ads.txt file.

Basically, you need to create ads.txt (Authorized Digital Sellers) file in your  local machine or create it directly on your web server root directory of your website and paste all the publishers ID listed. Otherwise you can install a plugin to do this. If you are not familiar using the plugin method. Instructions are provided in your publisher account ads.txt tab.

In the above illustration infolinks instructed us to include certain lists of publishers ID. If you can remember we are also running ads with Google Adsense and thus you also need to add your Google publisher ID on the lists to avoid putting your adsense earnings at risk by means ads will stop appearing on your site. Below is an example notification that you get if you fail to add your Google publisher ID in the ads.txt file.
