This is an another series of How To Get The Most Out Of Yoast SEO Plugin For Your Blog. We will share a little bit more of our experience about Writing SEO Rich Content using Yoast SEO plugin in writing your next content.

WRITING SEO RICH CONTENT

Writing SEO rich content can be so tricky. In addition to that, not every blogger are very much aware about the importance and the benefits of having an optimized content. Search Engine Optimization is a broad  topic and we are not going to cover all that up but rather we want you to focus in a real world application, optimizing your own content.

We also want you to bear in mind that the plugin does not do anything or have some special algorithm to boost your rankings in the search result but instead it will serve as a guide in crafting a search engine optimized content.

In this article, we’ll begin with the four (4) important sections in writing your content with the help of Yoast SEO plugin.

Writing SEO Rich Content

WRITING YOUR TITLE

Titles plays an important role for both users and search engines when writing article. It basically represent the topic of your context which will be displayed in search results. We wanted to give our audience and search engines a straight forward idea about the topic of your context.

All will be in good shape with the help of Yoast SEO Plugin. Here is a little preview on how your context will appear in the search result. Yoast SEO will typically tells you if your title is within the typical range or not, as it will show you a green progress bar in the snippet preview tab on your post page, otherwise it will  show red if you have exceeded.

We suggest to keep an eye on the snippet preview of the plugin and in the analysis result.

Writing Titles

Noticed that our focused keyword ( Writing SEO Rich Content) appears in the TITLEPERMALINK and DESCRIPTION section. Please take note that the TITLE in the preview shown above does not actually includes the site title of your blog yet.

as of our specification, as much as possible we wanted to retain our site title in the search result page. If you are having a longer site title plus your post title, normally your site title will be stripped off by default not unless if you add a special code to disable the site title in your post page.

50 to 60 Character Range – When writing a title it is important that you write it within the suggested 50 – 60 character range to achieve a better optimized title.

Keyword – Most importantly, you should include your keyword within your title but limit it into 2 to 4 phrase keyword such as (Writing SEO Rich Content).

We do not tend to use long tail keywords that looks like the whole 60 characters of your title is your keyword phrase. In other words keep your keyword short and meaningful.

Considering that you now have a better understanding about writing an optimized title for your next content. We also want to take advantage on the permalink structure in which we have a total control over it.

There is nothing so special about this section and we will give you an idea on how we usually do it. See the illustration below:

  • Copy your keyword
  • Click the permalink edit button
  • Paste your keyword

In the above illustration you now have a keyword rich title and permalink structure. Do not just copy the whole length of the title and paste it in the permalink. It is never been a good idea and it doesn’t make sense at all in terms of SEO.

WRITING POST DESCRIPTION

We have easily setup our permalink structure. Now we will try to explain the post description section in a shorter way.

We spend most of the time writing variations for our posts description before going it live. The description section is somehow like writing a post title it also have a specific number of characters to stay in good shape. Unlike the post title recommended 50 – 60 characters, the description can hold about 300 to 320 characters. The green progress bar will tell you exactly if you are within the recommended range.

What we usually do is that we write our post description in the first paragraph of our context while keeping it on the recommended 300 to 320 character range. Again, we always wanted to insert our keyword in this section. Don’t worry if you go below 300 characters. There are only three (3) things that you should keep in mind when writing descriptions.

  • Write a straight forward or a brief overview about your content
  • Write a description that flows naturally over your keyword
  • Do not forget to insert your keyword

FOCUS KEYWORDS

last but not the least. the hardest part of them all is by copying your keyword and pasting in on the focus keyword field under the Yoast Snippet Preview tab. Even though the others don’t do it for any other reason but for us we do not want to left it empty.

Generally, writing an SEO rich content or mastering the skill will require a lot of patience and practice. We are happy enough to address our needs of optimizing our content and share it with you what we have learned over our experience.

In our next article we will be talking about the analysis tab of Yoast SEO plugin has to offer. Thank you for reading out this far. We hope that we have delivered exactly our thoughts and experience to you and have learned something in it.
